First NIIOS-USA Cornea Evening during the ASCRS

The yearly NIIOS Cornea Evenings in Europe prior to the summer ESCRS have proven to be a great opportunity to share knowledge and experience and to discuss latest developments in corneal transplantation with the experts in this field. Given the increasing interest in and success of these evenings, we are now for the first time organizing a Cornea Evening in the US with the same set-up as in Europe. Please save the date: Friday, 5 May 2017 together with the start of the ASCRS in Los Angeles. The evening is free of charge and an application for CME credits will be made.

Yearly NIIOS Cornea Evening during the Summer ESCRS

Every year, NIIOS and SIGOTT (the Special Interest Group for Ocular Tissue Transplantation) host a Cornea Evening on the eve of the summer ESCRS. During this informative evening, we and renowned external speakers share information on the latest developments in advanced lamellar keratoplasty. The evening is free of charge and eligible for CME credits.

The next NIIOS Cornea Evening prior to the ESCRS will be held on Friday, 6 October 2017 in Lisbon.

Yearly Classical Music Event in De Doelen, Rotterdam, the Netherlands

Gerrit Melles is not only a corneal surgeon and the founder of NIIOS, but also an amateur composer. Every fall, the Melles Classical Music Foundation (MCMF) and NIIOS host a classical concert in the De Doelen concert venue in Rotterdam. This musical afternoon features not only compositions by Gerrit Melles, but also works by Schumann, Beethoven, Bach and other classical masters. The evening is open to friends of NIIOS, friends of MCMF, and others interested in classical music.
Would you like to know more about how a medical encounter led to the creation of the Melles Classical Music Foundation? Read more on the MCMF website.
