Advanced keratoplasty wetlab instruction courses organized by the NIIOS focus on

The NIIOS organizes wetlab instruction courses at regular time intervals. Each course consists of a two-day program scheduled on Tuesday and Wednesday. At the first day (Tuesday), participants are invited to observe various live-surgeries in patients, and at the second day (Wednesday), participants receive a hands-on training in lamellar keratoplasty techniques in a wetlab set-up. The educational level of the wetlab instruction courses is advanced.
In the second half of 2016 there will be a DMEK wetlab course especially for course participants who are already advanced in DMEK (experience >30 - 50 cases). The stress of this course will be on challenging cases like DMEK in buphthalmic eyes or in eyes with tubes. The tissue preparation will concentrate on donor tissue preparation in difficult cases. It is also possible to bring in your own difficult cases to discuss. If you have performed more than 30 or more DMEKs, you are most welcome to join this special course.

Please note: Course fees are used entirely to cover the organizational costs of the wetlabs and to sponsor the R&D activities at the NIIOS, that lacks university grant support or any other financial support.
